Local Lad Mike Returns To Home Town

18th Jan 2016

Specialist lawyer Mike Gane has returned to work in his hometown of Midsomer Norton, where he has joined the probate team at solicitors Thatcher + Hallam LLP. Mike started his legal career in Midsomer Norton more than 33 years ago and is extremely pleased to now be back working in his home town.

‘My roots lie firmly in the town and surrounding area,’ says Mike. ‘Both my grandfathers were miners in the Somerset Coalfield and this is where I brought my own family up and where I still live. Midsomer Norton is very much my place and it is wonderful being able to go to work once more in my own town and see clients, many of whom I already know.’

Mike specialises in probate work, advising families following the death of a loved one.

‘It is all about understanding people and giving re-assurance to clients during times which can sometimes be both difficult and challenging,’ adds Mike. ‘I am in a very fortunate position as I love working with the details of the law and in addition regard myself as being very much a ‘people’ person.’

When not at work, Mike is a keen golfer and for many years has been a member at the Centurion Golf Club, where Mike sits on the committee as well as playing for the club teams.

‘We are absolutely delighted that Mike has chosen to return to his home town and join Thatcher + Hallam LLP,’ says partner and head of the Wills Probate + Tax Planning department, George Persson. ‘Mike is a very experienced, skilled and trusted legal professional. This, coupled with all his local knowledge will I know prove to be a real asset to both the community as well as my firm’
