My experience studying the LPC and working part-time as a Paralegal.

The LPC is significantly more practical than an LLB undergraduate course and of course, this comes with it’s challenges. However, having a law firm that supports you throughout your route to qualification provides the encouragement and knowledge you require to excel in your career.

I am lucky enough to work with Thatcher + Hallam LLP and I have learnt an incredible amount about myself and the legal process. Based on my experience of student life, I feel from studying to starting your first-time job is not talked about enough. It can feel like a daunting process. However, working part time whilst still studying for my LPC and Masters has been a very useful combination. It is a gentle and supportive way of easing yourself into the world of work which offers real life scenarios which you can link together and relate to whilst you are studying.

Thatcher + Hallam have been incredibly supportive and provided extensive knowledge and assistance throughout my law journey. I have learned a vast range of legal practicalities, and I am inspired and eager to expand my knowledge in all practice areas under a training contract.

The friendly and approachable colleagues at Thatcher + Hallam show just how supportive and knowledgeable this law firm is as a whole. No question goes unanswered, and this is replicated for our clients of the firm. My experience so far at Thatcher + Hallam is a privileged one and I cannot wait to continue my journey further.

At this firm, it doesn’t matter whether you are doing a legacy route to become a solicitor, the SQE, the CILEx qualifications to become a FCILEx Lawyer or whether you have no idea what you want to do yet. The whole system is in place to help all trainees succeed and grow no matter which direction that is.

I would definitely recommend studying the LPC part time, whilst gaining experience and working part time in a law firm should you wish to take this route.
