Radstock Museum Photos Attract Attention
There has been a great reaction to the special Christmas messages on the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Nub News home pages this week, especially to the fantastic photos used to create the banners. The photos are courtesy of the Radstock Museum, community partners of Thatcher + Hallam.
‘For several years we have supported the Museum and it is great to have the opportunity to have something displayed on Nub News originating from the Museum itself,’ says partner and solicitor at the firm Laura Ablett.
Lucy Tudor is Publicity & Education Volunteer at the Museum.
‘The great news is that for the next two Saturdays, 12th and 19th December, not only the Museum but also the Museum shop is open,’ says Lucy. ‘So many things have changed in 2020, and one of those changes that we are discovering is that local people want to shop locally this Christmas 2020. Where better to shop than your own Museum’s shop, where there is a fantastic display of great gifts to buy for friends and family.’
‘The great photographs of the two towns on Nub News has triggered even more interest in what we are doing here at the Museum,’ adds Lucy. ‘The two photographs used by Nub News (of the old Radstock Market and the High Street in Midsomer Norton) are just two of over 800 prints maintained in the Museum’s archives.’
‘Over the lockdowns, during long walks, local people have had the opportunity to discover the area where they live and its fascinating history,’ says Lucy. ‘Now everyone has the chance to find out a bit more about the history of where they live. The Museum and shop is open from 11 am to 5 pm on the next two Saturdays, so if you are looking for something different to buy then pop on down to see us. For those who have taken seriously to walking following the first lockdown, there are many guides, maps and directions on where to find your next walk. We look forward to seeing you here!’
