New Partner Appointed
01st May 2016Solicitor Laura Ablett has been appointed a Partner at Midsomer Norton law firm Thatcher + Hallam LLP. Laura is part of the Wills, Probate and Tax Planning team at the firm, where she specialises in advising on all aspects of law affecting individuals. Having previously worked at a leading trust corporation, Laura was admitted as a solicitor in 2013 before joining Thatcher + Hallam the following year.
Laura is clearly extremely pleased at her appointment.
‘I am doing a job that I love and becoming a partner is one of the proudest moments for any Solicitor,’ says Laura. ‘One of the reasons that I really enjoy working at Thatcher + Hallam is that the firm shares a belief and ethos that each and every client is different. There is no ‘tick box’ culture here. Every client and family is unique and therefore receives from myself and my colleagues, advice that is truly bespoke and unique to them.’
‘I particularly regard it as a real privilege to be able to work with the more mature and elderly client,’ adds Laura. ‘We are all now living longer which brings with it extra challenges. I make it my job to ensure that my clients and their families are given as much legal protection as possible, not just by making a Will but also by making use of the equally important Lasting Power of Attorney. As part of our personal service, we arrange that any meeting takes place at a location convenient and comfortable for our client, whether that’s in our offices or in their own home. ’
The Managing Partner at Thatcher + Hallam is Grahame Macaulay.
‘Everyone here would wish to congratulate Laura on her appointment as a Partner,’ says Grahame. ‘We have always had a strong private client team at Thatcher + Hallam and with her warm and welcoming nature, Laura has proved to be extremely popular when advising our clients who have reached retirement age and beyond. We are delighted to have her on board as a Partner in our firm.’
