Mythbusting in the Chew Valley

02nd Feb 2018 Mythbusting in the Chew Valley

It was an absolute delight on Wednesday to meet Denise Perrin and the many members of the West of England Rural Network/Village Agents organisation.

We gave a presentation on the benefits of making a Will and Lasting Power of Attorney, but I came away from the meeting really impressed by how Village Agents aims to bring the community together when otherwise people would sometimes seem isolated. A great organisation that deserves all the support it gets.

I am really looking forward to the next presentation on Wednesday 14th February 2pm to 3pm. Once again this will be held at the Childrens’ Centre, Chew Valley School, Chew Lane, BS40 8QB. On this occasion we shall be talking about Mythbusting the Cost of Care. Care provision is rapidly becoming a hot topic as national and local budgets are cut. Rural care costs are sometimes higher so for many people this is a worrying prospect. Planning ahead certainly helps. At the talk on the 14th we shall be looking at the best options available. Might you have to sell your home? What happens if you live alone? What if you are a couple and share assets? We will be covering all these main points and I will of course be taking questions from the audience.

I also have to say a word of thanks to the Chew Valley Gazette for their support of Village Agents.

For more details of the talk on the 14th February then the Village Agent Project Manager Denise Perrin can be contacted on 07973 148699 or on 01275 333700. If you can’t wait till the talk on the 14th, of course I can always be contacted direct on 01761 414646 or at gpersson@th-law.co.uk.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 14th February!
