Make a Difference in 2020: Make a Will

06th Jan 2020 Make a Difference in 2020: Make a Will

Teaming up with Accountants for Free Museum Talk

We have joined up with our Midsomer Norton neighbours accountancy practice King Watkins, to give a free presentation at the Radstock Museum. The presentation will be about the importance of making a Will, including the disasters that can happen if you don’t make a Will.

The event takes place at the Museum at 5.30pm on Tuesday 21st January. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available and volunteers will be providing a free tour of the Radstock Museum. The event is free and there is no need to book. After an initial presentation by the panel, much of the rest of the time allocated is expected to be taken up by a Question & Answer session from the audience, with the evening coming to a close at about 7pm. The event is however likely to be popular so early arrival is advised.

‘We are extremely fortunate to be able to take up the offer of the Museum to host the event on the 21st January,’ says Thatcher + Hallam solicitor and partner George Persson. ‘We also are incredibly grateful for their offer to provide a free tour of the Museum once the talk is completed. Whether you are thinking of retiring, have just moved house or your first child has just been born, this is an event that every family can benefit from.’

As well as partner George Persson and his colleagues from our Wills Probate + Tax Planning team, also in attendance will be Graeme King, a Director at accountants King Watkins.

‘We are absolutely delighted to have such a well-known and highly respected local accountant as Graeme King present the event with us,’ adds George. ‘All of us make New Year resolutions. Very often we promise (even us solicitors!) that we will at long last write our Will, but there is always then an excuse and we end up just putting it all off for another year. In 2020 however there will be no excuses. Everyone has the opportunity of coming along to the Museum on the 21st January to find out what it is all about, including cost, time that it all takes and the sometimes catastrophic consequences if you don’t make a Will. There will of course be a full Question and Answer session at the talk.’
