Injured…And It’s Not Your Fault?
12th Oct 2018How a Personal Injury claim works
According to the Law Society, over three million people are injured in accidents every year. Whether by being hit by a motorist who wasn’t paying attention, slipping or tripping due to the failure of a land owner to make either a private residence or a public place safe or suffering an accident at work due to lax workplace health and safety procedure. Accidents can happen anywhere at any time.
If someone else is at fault for your accident then you may have a right to seek compensation.
…. Bring in the Lawyers!
Personal injury law can be complicated, which is why it is recommended by many different public services (Citizens Advice Bureau and The Law Society to name a couple!) that you seek a lawyer to guide you through the process of a claim.
But that sounds really expensive!
At Thatcher and Hallam our Personal Injury Experts work for you on a ‘no win no fee’ agreement which does what it says on the tin. If we do not win your claim, you don’t pay a penny.
In the event your claim is won then your lawyer will deduct a small fee from your compensation to cover expenses and costs accrued in running your claim. This fee is agreed in advance of your claim commencing and is well worth it for the assistance and clout against any un-cooperative insurers!
OK, so what happens when I instruct a lawyer?
Your lawyer will act on your behalf and will do all of the leg work to allow focus on your recovery. We contact the person who has caused you to suffer an injury to obtain insurance details. Then we commence and run the claim on your behalf.
One of the advantages of instructing a lawyer is that they are able to assess how much your compensation you should receive. This protects you from being given a low offer directly by insurers who then often pressurise injured parties into accepting it.
We don’t mean to blow our own trumpets….. But because Thatcher + Hallam is a community firm we provide an excellent level of service to our clients throughout the progression of the claim. Don’t believe us? Then have a look at our testimonials on our website!
Sounds good! Can I arrange a free appointment to discuss my injury?
Please call 01761 464 646 or email enquiries@th-law.co.uk if you would like to speak with one of our Personal Injury Experts about an accident you have been involved in, and whether you might be entitled to compensation.
