Frome Cheese and Grain Farmers’ Market Returns Indoors

11th Aug 2021 Frome Cheese and Grain Farmers’ Market Returns Indoors

Welcome back to the Frome Cheese and Grain Farmers’ Market

For the last 18 months, the Farmers’ Market in Frome has been held outdoors, in all weathers, with occasional cancellations due to extreme weather. But with the relaxing of coronavirus restrictions the market will now return to it’s original home inside the Frome Cheese and Grain building, where it first began trading over 20 years ago.

The indoor market will return on Saturday 14th August, from 9am to 1pm, with both familiar faces and new names joining the range of stalls available for customers to browse. The market exists to encourage closer links between customers and the local farming and food producer community., with customers able to support and help sustain small local farms and food producers.

Laura Ablett, partner at Thatcher + Hallam solicitors who sponsor the market said, “We are proud to support Somerset Farmers’ Markets and we are delighted they are finally able to return to their traditional spot in the Frome Cheese and Grain. We hope the re-launch of the market is a huge success.”

COVID update

In terms of protecting those attending the market from COVID, Somerset Farmers’ Market is encouraging people to continue to wear face coverings when visiting the market and to use hand sanitiser. A safe queuing system will be implemented, contactless payment is available and the Cheese and Grain has recently installed a new ventilation system, which replaces the air within the building every few minutes.
