Our free legal advice surgery 

Our free legal advice surgery gives people within the local communities of Midsomer Norton, Bath, Frome and surrounding villages the opportunity to access free no obligation legal advice on a range of matters in a 15 minute appointment slot. 

We run two free legal advice surgeries:-

Tuesday – 4.00pm – 6.00pm* – Ames Kent, Frome

Thursday – 4.30pm – 6.00pm – Thatcher + Hallam, Midsomer Norton

*Please note, family law appointments are only available between 4.00pm – 5.00pm

What you can expect from your free legal advice appointment

When you enter our reception building one of our friendly reception team will greet you and provide you with a short form to complete and return to them so that they can then allocate you to the lawyer or solicitor you need.

A member of our legal teams will take you to one of our meeting rooms for your free 15 minute appointment to discuss:

• the issue you are facing;
• your rights and how you might go about resolving the issue without the need for legal representation where possible.

There are no catches or obligations to proceed your matter with us, and there are no hidden fees in relation to this service – it is completely free. 

Do I need to book? 

Yes. You will need to book if you wish to attend our free legal advice surgery.

How do I book an appointment?

Booking an appointment is simple, you can either:-

1. Call us on 01761414646 and our reception team will provide you with a date and time for your appointment.
2. Emails us at enquiries@th-law.co.uk with the subject like ‘Free Legal Advice Surgery Booking Request’ and specify whether you would like an appointment at our Midsomer Norton or Frome office.
3. Send us a message through our website and specify whether you would like an appointment at our Midsomer Norton or Frome office.

For booking requests by email or website, please do not attend our free legal advice surgery unless you have received a booking confirmation.

Please note the following:

• We are unable to advise on matters relating to criminal law. 

• We do not require our staff or visitors to wear face masks. If you are immune-compromised please get in touch to discuss special arrangements.

• Any details you share with us will be stored by us on our confidential client database. If you do not wish for your details to be held by us then please tell us and we will be happy to comply with your request. However, due to SRA rules this means we would not then be able to advise you on your legal matter query. We may in the future use your details to contact you about our services.
