The Opportunity

We are hiring for an exciting role within our expanding Personal Injury and Medical Negligence department, for an Administrative Assistant at our law firm offices in Midsomer Norton, commutable from Wiltshire, Somerset, Bristol and Bath.

The role is to provide administrative support to the personal injury and medical negligence fee earners and to work alongside the Senior Administrative Assistant. We will consider both part-time and full-time applications, with salary adjusted pro-rata.

This position may also support flexi-time for the right candidate, subject to skills and experience.

Essential Skills:-

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary or administrator.
  • Experience with legal procedures, associated technology and IT.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Works well in a team and under own initiative.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Works well under pressure.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working as an administrator or secretary within either personal injury, medical negligence or litigation.
  • Qualifications relating to secretarial support (e.g. NVQ Business Administration Level 2 or above, CILEx, etc)
  • Experience using pdfDocs and Docusign.
  • Aspiration to train and develop.

General Duties for this Role

  • Management of dictations using Bighand (digital) dictation and pedals.
  • File management both with paper a digital.
  • General administration.
  • Drafting a variety of documents.
  • Taking initial telephone enquiries.
  • Assisting fee earners with general file management tasks.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft Office 365 packages and case management suites.

Training to be provided.
