Chris is a highly skilled and experienced business and commercial property lawyer. Having worked at a number of leading West Country practices as well as an in-house lawyer at the country’s largest building society, Chris has gained a particular specialism in dealing with both business and property related disputes. That specialism extends to advising on matters from director, shareholder and partnership disputes to insolvency and professional negligence claims.
As a property solicitor, Chris regularly advises on the terms of commercial leases, renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 as well as licences and assignments. He is also sought after by both landlords and tenants to advise on matters from dilapidations, rent reviews to alleged breach of covenant.
Chris also regularly advises on all matters of business law, from start-ups (corporate and individual) to shareholder agreements, planning agreements and business acquisitions and disposal.
Qualifications: Chris obtained a BA Degree at the University of the West of England (UWE) where he read English and History, before completing his professional qualifications, also at UWE. Admitted as a solicitor in 1987, Chris enjoys strong local knowledge and contacts. Chris joined Thatcher + Hallam at the beginning of 2017.
